Feeling discomfort with Motive therapy can be normal, especially if you are new to using stimulation devices for pain relief. There are a few steps you can take to minimize these effects and improve your overall comfort during and after treatment:
- Consider lowering the stimulation intensity: Adjusting the intensity levels to a more comfortable setting can reduce any potential discomfort.
- Avoid shaving on the day of treatment: Shaving makes the skin more sensitive, which may contribute to the appearance of marks or discomfort. If you do need to shave, please do so at least a day before therapy to allow the skin to recover and reduce sensitivity.
- Use intact, undamaged Therapy Pads: If the Pad is worn out or damaged, it may not provide optimal contact with your skin, leading to discomfort. If you notice any signs of gel damage or puncture, it is recommended to replace it with a new one to maintain the effectiveness and comfort of the therapy.
- Dry skin: Make sure to apply the provided Conductive Gel to your thigh skin before using Motive therapy. This gel ensures better contact between the Pad and your skin, reducing the likelihood of discomfort.
While discomfort may be experienced during therapy sessions, it should never be unbearable or cause significant pain. If you are experiencing persistent or excessive discomfort, please consult your healthcare professional or contact our customer support team at support@mymotive.com for guidance.
